Who we are

The journey of RGV Be the Change began in 1995, born out of profound loss and a determination to make a difference. One of our co-founders experienced the heartbreaking loss of his wife to colorectal cancer. That moment marked the beginning of our mission: to lead the Rio Grande Valley in cancer research, awareness, and support, ensuring no family faces cancer alone.

Over the years, RGV Be the Change has been at the forefront of advancing cancer education, championing awareness initiatives, and fostering critical research that brings us closer to hope and healing. Our efforts are fueled by a passionate team, community partners, and generous supporters who share our vision for a cancer-free future.

Looking ahead, we are proud to announce the development of our state-of-the-art Cancer Research Facility, set to open in 2025. This facility will serve as a beacon of innovation and care, driving groundbreaking research, treatments, and resources right here in the Rio Grande Valley.
